Know that God loves you very much and sent His Son Jesus into the world so that we could be saved through Him. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. Your sin separates you from a holy God. That is why He seems so distant and out of reach from you. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Realize that Christ’s death on the cross fulfilled God’s requirement of punishing sin. Christ was put to death in our place so that we could live. You can admit your sin to God, tell Him that you are sorry, and ask Him to forgive you. This is the pardon that Jesus Christ won for us. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
You can speak to God now and ask Him to take away the guilt of your sin and show you how to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
